Gosh @Obelix-Vendée you are younger than my daughter! No wonder you have so much energy. Glad your hen came back.

No @Busy-Lizzie - we'll have been married 41 years! I'm definitely about the same age as you.

Opening my eyes each morning to discover I am still here!

The perfume from Gertrude Jeykyll when I open the conservatory doors.

The sound of a small bird which sits in the hawthorn to sing. It has an amazing range of song and I have no idea which bird it is. It is about the size of a sparrow, has a soft grey breast and brown back.

Seeing "my" buzzards cruising overhead on the thermals.

Sitting on a bench next to the post box admiring my borrowed garden.
I can catch glimpses of sun on the sea in St Austell Bay to the East, hundreds of acres of countryside rolling away to Land's End to the South and to Newquay and Watergate Bay to the West. I cannot see them but know they are there. Overhead there is a huge sky where I can watch the weather rolling in.

There are so many things which make me happy, I am lucky to still be around to enjoy them.

              Thank you.

I have to admit to enjoying a good moan about anything and everything and generally being a grumpy obstinate old moo as well as being a wrinkled little old ray of sunshine.

Well, it's good to have a moan every now and then, but to have such a positive outlook on life as evidenced by your earlier post is vital for one's well being.
I've just stuffed myself with toasted crumpets with melted cheese so I'm happy... and content!

This is the first time I have stumbled upon this thread (to the best of my knowledge).
                  Some lovely posts.
                  I particularly enjoyed the " I can't believe it's not Rutter" and @Goldenlily26 's post above.

On a more prosaic note, I have had a win on the Premium Bonds :yahoo:

                      Oh yum!
My favourite is hot crumpets loaded with butter and a smear of Marmite or honey or home made jam or. I just like hot buttery crumpets.
I must remember to order some crumpets when I do my on-line grocery order. (Car not on the road at the moment so having sustenance delivered)

                        Ooh crumpets….

I’m happy as it’s raining. The garden will appreciate it and I really need to get some work done. It’s always easier to get into work mode if the weather isn’t adding to the garden’s temptations.

One of the benefits of working for myself and part-time is that I can mostly do stuff when I’m in the mood. Unfortunately that mood can be quite elusive

Yesterday just outside our front window a bird caught my eye foraging on the flowers of our cotoneaster. Then there were 2 . Blackcaps ! Now I pick them up on my bird app ( don’t think I’m allowed to say which one ) when I’m out the garden or open the living-room window and now we’ve actually caught sight aswell , a treat definitely! .

I have that too and set it off a few times in spring but got frustrated. We have loads of singing birds here but many are elusive and never seen so imagine how fristrated I was when it said 35 birds identified but wouldn't give me the list!
