Last weekend on a visit to Newark-on-Trent to stay with our son’s family we had a quick visit to Southwell Minster ( our 3rd ) . As you do you stroll around the Palace gardens after admiring the Minster this caught our eye .

It was yesterday actually - my car passed its MOT test, it only needed new wipers :dbgrtmb:
And it was a beautiful summer day so I could get on in the garden

It is strawberry season. I do not grow them but I do eat them. I bought a couple of punnets yesterday, the fruit are huge! and delicious, 4 bites per berry, dipped in castor sugar. Oh bliss!

A very friendly robin, hanging around while we had tea under the jasmine. There was no chance of me sharing my sandwich, flapjack and crisp apple.

Just watched the Spiltfire flying around :) long time since he/she was around, they got told off by a lady that didn't like them flying near by and complained about so we haven't see it from then but just a fly over and back then off the somewhere else :)

My OH sent me a beautiful bouquet of local English country flowers for my birthday.

We cracked open a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate.

I had a lovely doze in my new hanging Egg chair - absolute bliss in late afternoon sunshine.

The nut that holds the blade of my pruning saw fell out somewhere in the garden yesterday, but my local hardware store provided me with a new nut, free of charge.

                                Thank you, Brills.
