:) This is on a par with the old gardening joke about” prick out 2 feet apart”

Sitting in the garden room and hearing the sweet pea pods dehiscing. Made it so much easier to get the seeds out ready for next year sowing.

Beautiful, sunny day. Notaire's appointment this a.m. was unexpectedly pleasant (and free!). Managed to get the grass cut without anything dropping off the mower....the list goes on. It doesn't take much, really

What's made me happy today? Absolutely naff all. The weather has been absolutely awful. Ranging from light rain to absolute torrents with the occasional few minutes of respite.

When we moved into our flat 9 years ago ( time is flying) we let the bathroom make with Bathstore back then. OH wanted to have a better shower head and for some reasons, we ended up with having two shower heads with hose of which the second one disappeared in the box for tools.
Yesterday, while having a shower, OH complained that I would use the water in the kitchen, no, I don't, and it turns out that the hose was broken. Whereas OH was thinking about Checkatrade to fix that, I remembered that we had the second one. I grabbed the pipe tongs, removed the broken one, put the working one in place, managed it to get the shower head removed from the broken hose and fitted it onto the new hose.
Job done. Saved probably £50 at least just on materials, and another £100 on a Checkatrade chap.

Weekly shop today and there were 4 lamb's kidneys on the butcher's counter and he had 2 more behind complete with their fat - a first here! - so tomorrow OH and I will have devilled kidneys on toast for lunch and we can have suet pudding another day.

Even more rare here @pete. Even seeing lamb's kidneys is rare so to get 6 at once and 2 with fat is exceptional.

I had a few pairs of trousers that needed shortening (even the shortest length you can get is too long for me !)
They're several years old but because late partner became disabled we could not go anywhere,
then after she died the covid lockdowns came so I still couldn't go anywhere,
and I didn't bother to get the the trousers shortened.

Anyway I decided to get them done now, and yesterday I took them to a lady in a near-by village who has a little sewing business she runs from the house.
She usually charges £10 to shorten trousers but because I had five pairs she said she'd do them for £7 each
And I also had two jumpers which needed resewing along the side 'joins' and she said she'd do those free

They'll be ready next week :dbgrtmb:
