I managed to pull open the kitchen drawer. One mighty yank and it flew open. The side runner fell out too. As they say better out than in. Now fully working.

I got pulled over by one a couple of yrs ago, @Fat Controller.

Him: When did you last consume alcohol?
            Me: 1987.
Him: Just my luck to get a teetotaller!

I am happy because I have done my last supermarket shop till after Xmas. Braved the 8am gloom and driving drizzle (I walked to avoid the car park standstill) and was home by 9 am with everything I need. Result!

I’m kinda reluctant to say, in case I jinx it, @Plantminded.

                It panned out like this.
Saturday - dead as a dodo, with a completely blank digital display.
Sunday - same, until the pump that takes away condensation kicked in for its 10 second stint. At this point, the boiler miraculously sprang to life, but after 40 mins stopped again. :dunno: However, some symbols and numbers remained on the display.
Sunday mid-afternoon - pump repeats its action, and boiler kicks in immediately … and has been working steadily since.

So, I decided I couldn’t very well ring the engineer in what was likely to be a very busy week for him and say “My boiler seems to be working, but can you come and look at it”. :)

I am hoping that does not prove an overly optimistic decision. :fingers crossed:
