My opposite neighbour has a tiny patch next to her drive, under a huge and beautiful walnut tree, where it's packed with spring and woodland flowers - hellebores, bulbs, celandines, the usual stuff.. and a forsythia at the front. It looks so gorgeous, there's not a gap to be seen, and there's always something there that I didn't see before.
    That makes me happy.

That sounds beautiful. Gosh, celandines take me back to childhood. It's amazing how certain flowers can take us to a special memory.

Yes. Bluebells and lily of the valley are early childhood ones for me. I love it, I'm an incurable nostalgic!

So many things, waking up to start with! People smiling at nature, and/or smiling at anything at all... Not following the heard and trying to remember there is more to life than the "self".

My good news is that I got a text from my GP surgery asking if I would call in as soon as possible. The thoughts that ran through my mind were horrendous having recently had a blood test. On arrival I was presented with an Easter egg from the raffle I took part in!! It’s only small but it made my day. :hapfeet:

I went out to pop something in the recycling bin before it gets emptied and got sidetracked into pulling out a few weeds from the base of our low front wall on the street side to pop in the green bin that's also out. A lady stopped and commented that she always likes to look at my front garden when she's passing, because there's always something new in flower! Isn't that nice? Made my day!

That must have been the best reason to visit to a GP surgery @Brenda.
It is a lovely thing,@JennyJB to hear. Much of my garden (apart from the front)is on view and it happens to me quite a lot. I garden in memory of my lovely mum who helped me with my first garden. She grew up on a farm and grew the most stunning flowers and veg in her own gardens.
I also try to make my garden colourful and attractive for passers-by to enjoy, for the wildlife and birds too. I'm not all that good, but positive comments from neighbours, friends and sometimes total strangers fills me with pride.
What makes me happy today is when I look at my small magnolia which I can see out of my window now. I bought it as a twig from a supermarket some years back. I have it in a half barrel. Flowering has been sporadic over the years, but in the last couple it has flowered beautifully. I love it and yes, I talk encouragingly to it when I see its buds appear.

@pattie I do that too, when leaves or flower buds appear I welcome them. Sometimes I give them a little kiss, lol!

I don't do it that often, but animals.. lol.. I had a frog who didn't mind being touched, I gave him a little kiss on the head once as we were chatting. He was a really unusual bright green.

Hearing a blackbird singing her heart out in the garden. One usually nests in the climbing hydrangea so am looking forward to see what nests this year.

Apparently ... blackbirds sometimes build several nests in different places and then decide which is safest, using the others as sort of decoys. Clever, eh?
