Apparently it's the last day of winter so went out for a walk. It was lovely, the hills still had a coating of snow and everywhere there was a hint of spring- buds swelling, birds singing, crows behaving like proper thugs and chasing off everything in sight, and Coots having a great time on ice. :)

Coots apparently were not there when "gracefulness" was dished out but seeing them running on ice was hilarious. I think they were having a lot of fun

If you have a Waitrose near you, they are selling them. I just got three bags of them delivered and very good they are too.

      Waitrose & Partners

Ocado have them, unwaxed and organic, made by Natoora. They are good too, but more muddy and “natural” (!)

@Tidemark our local Waitrose closed a number of years ago and Ocado's minimum order value is £40. My eBay purchase arrived on Friday by Royal Mail. 9 good quality sevilles packed in a sturdy box. Very pleased, but a bit pricey.

Marmalade was made today. I made 6.5 jars (couldn't make any more as my pot was not big enough). So I have frozen 2 sevilles and plan to make a seville and dark chocolate cake in the near future.

My marmalade keeps for years in the cupboard as it's made with twice as much sugar to fruit.

Being able to totter out to the 'conservatory', see that everything is ticking over OK and slosh some water about. There's a flower spike on the Cymbidium, the Passiflora and Gelsemium are flowering too.
Then couldn't resist setting off down the garden with ski-sticks at the ready  Considering the horrible temperatures that we've had lately, everything seems to have survived this bout :hapydancsmil:

A BBC World Service article on "From our own correspondent". A teacher in Lagos who is running his own organisation to save wild/trafficked animals frequently on sale in his local market. He and his pupils rescue ( sometimes they have to buy them ) these animals, care for them and then release them into a small local Nature Reserve.
As all we usually hear about Nigeria is corruption, scamming/hacking, it's nice to hear about the "goodies" in that country. His little organisation is named Green Fingers.

It is nice to hear such news. All the best to them.

It's pension day today and the exchange rate has very obligingly crept up to 1.20 just in time :hapfeet::yahoo:

I've only got to live for another 2 months to break even on the extra contributions I made ;) Not the 30-odd years standard contributions, mind you.....still, it's still pure luxury to be getting anything at all!

I woke up this morning in my own bed. Spent two months in hospital and finished up with bypass open heart surgery. This made me very happy.

Look after yourself @waterbut , my hubby had an unexpected triple bypass five years ago and it changed his life. For the better of course!

Thank you Bluejayway. Glad to hear it about your husband. My heart attack came out the blue with no indications of feeling unwell. Went to my first exercise class today a bit OTT I thought.
