That’s interesting re your clematis @LunarSea
How long had it been in its old spot and was it hard to get out? I’m asking because I have a Clematis Julia Correvan I keep thinking about moving. There two very close together and I have another spot where I would like one. I’ve tried repeatedly to take cuttings but they just don’t take ( I’ve read every tip and watched multiple videos on how to do them so have decided it’s the Clematis not me).
The two I have are not in the greatest position so wondering whether to risk losing one in an attempt to move it. They are both very robust.

I’ve moved clematis a couple of times. They send down deep roots so you have to break some. They take at least a yr to recover and do so better if you can pot them up and let them grow a compact root ball, with lots of water and general TLC. You do risk losing them though as it is not always successful. I’d say now would be the best time to try.

I planted it in its original site 3 years ago but it was a silly place to put it with tall plants converging from both sides. It wasn't too difficult to get out but then you have to decide where to sink your spade first and then go from there. I know I cut off a lot of its roots so I did my best to make it's new site (in heavy clay) as 'comfortable' as possible. Of course just because there are shoots now doesn't mean it won't give up later. You can only try!

I went to Carmarthen, and I always use the country roads, until I get to the bit where I have to use the A40 for a mile or two.
It was a beautiful spring day, sunny and warm, and along the way I saw swathes of lovely Snowdrops. There were lots of Celandines coming out, and patches of wild Primroses. It was nice to see them all in the spring sunshine

How delightful! I miss seeing Anglesey in Spring and my garden :cry3:. It's not the same here, a few Daffodils scattered around and the odd Camellia is about all.

I'm sorry to hear that @luciusmaximus, Anglesey is lovely, In fact I prefer it to the harsh rocky mountains north Wales is famous for.
Are you in Ireland permanently, or will you be returning to Anglesey in the future ?

Most of Wales is incredibly beautiful . I didn't want to leave Anglesey or Eryri. Property prices are so expensive now and couldn't find a suitable property within my budget. I can't see me staying in NI much longer, it's not the right place for me. Need to get my house into better condition before it goes onto the market, so will be a few months. Not sure where I'll go yet. I can go back to Anglesey, but the reasons I left will still be there. Maybe, Scotland.

Have you been to Anglesey in the Spring?

I've only been there in the summer when on holiday.

                  Good luck then !

If you get chance to visit in Spring you won't be disappointed! Daffodils, Celandines, Dandelions, Camellia, Hebe everywhere and cherry blossoms. Early summer there are carpets of Sea Thrift on the coast and the lanes full of Cow Parsley , Foxgloves and Red Campion.

I should have stayed on Anglesey!! Main reason for leaving is lack of work and more difficult for older people to find jobs.

It sounds lovely, but I won't be able to go now, I can't travel far.
Every time I've visited Ynys Mon it reminded me of around here - gentle countryside and quiet lanes, and a spectacular coast. I can understand how you miss it.

No, I can't even do that - I am quite agoraphobic. About 4 hrs is the most I can be away from home before I start getting agitated, and then if I still can't go home I get panicky.

                            Thank you @luciusmaximus .
The anxiety and agoraphobia developed because I was bullied a lot, and had bad panick attacks.
I tried medication and counselling but none of it worked. In fact the medication made me worse so I stopped taking it.
In the end I realised what the problem was myself - the bullying - and after I met Beryl things were easier (she's dead now)
But the agoraphobia is still there in the background, and although I can handle it well these days, I prefer not to go far from home.
