I have eaten the leaves of young plants but haven't tried the blooms.

 

My mother said that when she was a little girl she'd go out to the lane behind their house to collect Dandelion leaves and make sandwiches from them. I used to think what a stupid thing to do, until I found out about the benefits ...

 

Oh yuk....nope certainly not advisable FC.
Only ones in our garden and only the young fresh leaves.

 

If you bust up a flower, the petals add a bit of colour to white rice.

I can't say I've done it very often. I usually colour the rice with spices or finely chopped veg but being a curious sort, I've tried it a couple of times. It's not that exciting, and barely does anything to the flavour, but it's pretentious enough to tell everyone about. I'm still waiting for my Michelin star though. I think they must have forgotten about me.
