Yes, I found them too (probably all shrivelled up and dried by now anyway) and I drew the same conclusion ... need plants at this stage I reckon. Some on eBay, but not varieties that I want.

Thanks :) Got it from Amazon last year purely to give us something for the front of the house (we only have a tiny wee concrete patch in front of the living room window) - its getting a wee bit slack at the joins this year, but I have a plan to reinforce it once it has done its duty for this year.

I am well and truly stuffed now thanks to T&M - anything I am likely to find now that are big enough to fill the places I have planned are likely to cost arms and legs.

I'm done with them - the odd error happens, and as long as it is sorted somehow that is fine - but near on 100% failure to supply correct or usable goods over five orders is beyond shoddy; any company that can afford to treat customers like that don't get my custom.

Wow, FC, I see your point  My garden is only starting out so I'm grateful for any green and floral display but from next year onwards , I'd be furious if a supplier let me down like that. I'm going to use this time to find reliable solid suppliers based on the recommendations from here and my own experiences. When I get the delivery from Plantify, I report back with photos for the benefit of everyone else.

I got loads of Spring Planting Garlic from T&M this year which was really cheap as it a very good price to start off with and I bought it using vouchers (some of which was compensation for the wrong seeds being in packets), when everything was 50% off, free P&P, etc., but when it turned up about 15% was soft/hollow/dead. I'd gone through every pack checking every single bulb/clove, gave them details of exactly how much of each variety was defective and was sent replacements that should have been in excess of the losses.

But despite me stressing it was obviously defective and should never have been sent out and being assured that they would start checking all the orders still to sent, when I received the replacements they were in the same sorry state as the first lot, so I probably only just scavenged enough to get what I should of had, but had a whole load of hassle sorting it out.

Having said that, I've done quite well on some other stuff when it's been on special offer and I've bought it during free P&P promotions, but nowadays T&M seem to make their bargain stuff 'temporarily unavailable' or 'sold out' whilst there's free P&P and it suddenly comes back into stock after the P&P charges come back into force.

... and another thing (you got me going now), when they send you vouchers, instead of a proper refund, the vouchers expire quickly. Last year when some plants I ordered were badly packed/damaged they sent me an email saying they had no more till June 2013 and here's a voucher for your trouble. I didn't read the small print on the voucher (thinking it was valid till June) and it had expired when the plants became available again. There was nothing else I wanted from T&M except these particular plants

I find that quite often plants received from T&M are not the variety you order, but obviously you don't find out until they flower.
Also have had some very poor quality plants from them.
My biggest moan about them is they advertise plants as winter hardy when clearly they are not.

Well, I have just found out that at least one of the five petunia plants they sent with the hanging basket offer isn't the variety advertised - it just keeps getting better.....

I was about to sit down and send off a corker of an email, but then I wondered what good would come of it. At best, I may feel a bit better, at worst they would give a stock answer which would almost certainly incense me even more; and then there is the risk of ending up getting 8 of the rattiest looking dahlias next year as payback?

I was wondering the other day if this is a result of the poor year last year, the poor spring this year, and the fact that they moved premises at the back end of the year last year?

In reality, I have two choices really - give them another chance next year (for all that I will be buying, given how successful I have been from seed this year) or take my custom elsewhere.

Judging by the results you have shown us on GC , I think you should stay with raising your own things from seed FC. The range of things you can grow is far superior to theirs,
and with the GC Plantswap coming later, I remember the terrific variety of seeds in the package,

I don't know about getting ratty dahlias next year as more probably you'd get some free vouchers which as JWK says will expire faster than the speed of light. You'd end up spending these on things you don't really want just to use them up.

How about the other petunias? Are they as advertised?

An update on the buying fiasco from T & M. After ordering two more plants from Plantify I wanted to cancel my order and get a refund. Two days after calling and leaving a message with the receptionist, I still haven't had a call back. I called AGAIN and was adamant I spoke to someone that day. An hour later I got a call back and finally got my order cancelled. I was informed that the plants had already been dispatched so I could keep them with their blessing.
A week later they still haven't arrived so I assumed they had stopped them before they went out of the door. In the mean time the order from Plantify arrived, with emails and texts to inform of the dispatch and the details of the courier etc.

Today the plants from T & M turned up, and thank god I had been refunded or I would have been furious. The deal was buy two, get one free but there was only 2 and a letter of apology about low stock. £10 worth of vouchers were also included.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words so I 'll finish with this

                          On the left Clematis from Plantify £7.99 x 2 plus postage @ £4.99 = £20.97
                          On the right Clematis from T & M £9.99 x 2 plus postage @ £4.95 = £24.93
