I can remember the days when T&M were the very best (excuse that 'modern' grammar) and my father told me it was worth paying a bit extra to get stuff from them, but things seem to have changed.

I suppose a Mod/Admin could always invite a T&M rep to join GC and respond to comments on this forum as that works rather well with all sorts of other companies on other forums.

Yvonne no wonder T&M said you could keep the already dispatched order with their blessing. They obviously knew there was an issue - wonder why they didn't mention it on the phone!!

Probably because they in breach of advertising standards or something similar, how can they justify a "buy 2, get 1 free" offer then renege on the deal stating insufficient stock when they are offering the exact same plant at "checkout" today for £3.99!!??? If I haven't been already refunded, I would be reporting them to trading standards, disgusting way to treat your customers.

I have used T/M it is the luck of the draw with them The Autumn Raspberries were very good. I have picked today a bowl full, very strong and healthy plants, their plugs always arrived beautifully packed but need careful handling. for bedding plants I go to local market grown in the same soil reckon they always do well the pansies/primulas I got a month ago are a picture £2 for a 6 pack are now in spite of the rain in flower I planted them in hanging baskets hung low so I can reach them for dead heading and the slugs can't reach them! Their dispatch dates are iffly always a bit suprised when they do arrive after a wait but the quality is the best,
Oh any problem I always email you then have a copy.

Agree about T&M being overpriced. Browse the catalogue and enjoy the ridiculously posed and airbrushed photos but buy elsewhere, I say!

Mr Fothergills once sold me a packet of tomato seeds that was way short of the 'average' number of seeds. Must have been fairly blatant or I wouldn't have bothered counting.

I buy a few seed packets and plug plants from T and M . Always been top quality no problems . The pricing is at the same level as Nickys Nursery , Chiltern seeds etc . So its unfair to call them expensive , they are in the same price band as the other "Premier league " seed suppliers.
A lot of GC members use Premier Seeds on Ebay. They are outstanding value! They now have a "Smaller Packet Range" with free postage :dbgrtmb:

Not the last time I compared their tomato seed prices....

        T&M 15 Ferline tomato seeds for £2.99 +£1.95 P&P http://www.thompson-morgan.com/vege...s/tomato-seeds/tomato-ferline-f1-hybrid/899TM

But Nickys Nursery ticked all the boxes on price (less than half T&M's), quantity (33% more) and P&P charges (50p cheaper). 20 Ferline tomato seeds £1.45 P&P http://www.nickys-nursery.co.uk/gar...s-salad/tomato/tomato-ferline-20-tomato-seeds

They need a website, its a nightmare buying a variety of packets (well, multiples of anything from a single vendor) on eBay, their site functionality doesn't lend itself to browsing and finding like a well designed eCommerce shopping site.

You can just add each thing to your basket then do one checkout for all items, which is a step in the right direction, but I know you still have to visit each page which is a pain.

I thought Premier did have a full commerce site, but a quick Google and they don't . Still as the majority of seeds are still £0.99 and a one off postage of £0.49 , we don't want them to get too big and flash .

Premier also sell on Amazon, but P&P is 80p there, rather than 49p on ebay, but still cheaper than T&M's £1.95.

And although T&M have P&P free promotions, they now do this by means of a code which can't be used in conjunction with other offer codes, so the good old days of getting promotional offers with free P&P seem to have gone.

At least you can still get 12.6% cashback on the cost of order including P&P http://www.topcashback.co.uk/search/merchants/?s=Thompson and Morgan So even if you get something free using a voucher (which exclude P&P), on the £1.95 P&P for seeds for example you'll get 24p back which can be exchanged for 25p Clubcard Vouchers (+5% bonus), which gets you 50p back on 'double ups' and up to £1 in Deals which helps bring it into line with suppliers who charge less for P&P.

When you've £5 pounds worth of Clubcard Points you can exchange them for a £15 T&M voucher (and unless ordering when P&P is free don't forget to spend it going via that cashback site and start getting more points!) http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/product.aspx?R=2280
