Only just seen this thread Ziggy .. Lots of folk caught off gaurd by the travellers ,so assure your sister she is not alone, they certainly have the patter and charm when needed .. However this situation should not be taken to lightly ,as I'm sure you are aware..Unusual for them to want a cheque in the first place as they prefer cash .If they do return I agree it's best to negociate there and then and get them off your back ..
