That's interesting, walnut, I have saved it, thank you.

Here's my poor specimen this morning. The leaves are on average 60-65cm tall and I think it was pete who said it must be a miniature.

The Cannas are now shooting up and one, the peach or pink one, didn't die back and it's stem is already 135cm tall! They have all crammed the pots full and I've nowhere to put them.

Cheers Walnut. All I need now is a dried Sun Bird's foot. Pete, where did you get yours from?

Lol, it looks as though yours are ready pollen harvesting, mine in the hacienda and Cambridge are still just buds.

Walnut, I don't recall seeing any feet on there [IMG]

Apparently, to succeed at this you need pollen from a different plant to your own.

I can see me getting thrown out of several garden centres for pollen collecting this summer. :(

    Nik  (Phd McDonalds failed)

Not so sure you need pollen from another plant, it works even if you use pollen from the same flower.

    Evening, pete. [IMG]

I've never seen those little critters before  ... but then again, I've never broken a body open. I've got a few I can try with tomorrow.

    Unusual seeds aren't they. :D
Wait until the pod is brown and dry, then if nesessary bring indoors and it will open in 24 hours over gentle heat.
