:) Walnut I use Firefox, but, fingers crossed... I don't seem to be experiencing problems... All I did was go to the GC home page. Logged in telling it to remember me.. Then went to bookmarks & bookmarked it.... Now all I do is go to bookmarks & I am in...:thumb:

    ;) Doesn't this work for you..??

    Had the problem last night.

GC remained logged on properly on my pc PRIOR to the site upgrade therfore its the site software at fault and not my PC. Im damned if Im going to mess with my firewall.

:) I haven't had to make any changes Pro, plus I know allot of others who have not had any problems or made any changes either... So don't see why it should be the software only...:) Why not PM daisees or Nathan to make sure you have all the right boxes ticked the right way in your profile settings too..:)

:) So have you been through your settings with Nathan then Kandy..???? It seems to me you have something set incorrectly in your PC settings for the new board..!! V-bullitin boards do sometimes require you to make some changes in your settings... It doesn't seem many people are experiencing your problems so maybe worth going through it with him..;):) Hope that helps Kandy as it is frustrating I am sure..:(

Hi Marley,Mr Kandy followed the instructions that Dizi posted and we thought it had solved the problem but it doesn't look as if it has.Nathan said on the thread that he was going to look at my profile settings to see if there was anything wrong that needed fixing.

I don't know whether he did.I try not to fiddle too much with the technical side of the computer because I am always worried I might bodge it and then the computer expert of the family will have to sit and sort it out.

I tried to do a post on the pet thread tonight and when i pressed Go Advanced I couldn't get the smilies to work, all I got was samll boxes where the smilie should be and then when i went to submit my post I lost the whole lot, that is why I am getting frustrated.

I will have to get Mr K to look at it again after he has finished watching Chelsea on the TV.

    Thankyou for your advice

Kandy as an interim measure before you go advanced or try to post copy your text if you then get the login bit just login then paste your text save you typing it all again,it's a little less frustrating especially if it's a long post

 Well Kandy, I think I would definitely PM Nathan & ask him if he looked at your GC settings then... ;) Mind you, you used to have the problem of losing your posts before the change over.. I know your log in was OK then, but to me I would think you have something not quite right in your settings..!! So get Nathan to look at them before you ask Mr K to look again..!!!;):) Otherwise, as Walnut says, why not type it all in word & then copy & paste into GC until it is sorted.. At least the way you won't lose your text..!!

Hi Kandy, do you log out before you switch your computer off? If you do, then you will have to log in again even if you have told it to remember you. I never bother to log out at all.

Walnut, one thing I have found with the new format is that I can highlight what I have typed in the message box but there is no 'copy' option when I right-click . Do you get the same?

I haven't yet had any problems about losing my posts but I always used to copy long ones before posting. Of course, I could original type them into Word but I don't think it should be neccessary.

:) Shiney I agree with you that
    ..
It shouldn't be necessary,I agree, but poor Kandy has had such a time with losing her text, so I just thought it was another option for her long ones..;):D

Hi Shiney no I don't have any problem copy and pasting my message

It would seem there are a lot of little anomalies it must be down to individual settings and security programmes,we will get there eventually.
