Forget to update last night, so my day yesterday .....

Finished off taking out all the half dead annuals from pots and baskets and replaced with fresh winter bedding plants. Looks sooooo much better :)

Other half finally got round to putting up that nice piece of iron arch trellis I brought ages ago! Planted the nice star jazmines (again, brought ages ago). Think its going to look pretty good once the Jazmine has established itself a bit more. One of them is over 9 foot tall now but still spindly so hopefully that will fill out soon enough!

Well .... thats two more jobs ticked off my list :)

Dont know about anyone else here .... but this has to be my least fav time of year now. Everything is past its best and dying off. No new blooms to look forward too either :(

The last few weeks of my joy .......

I've an Angelica that needs cutting back as it's looking a bit tatty now. I also want to pop to the garden centre to get a couple of Asters I saw there last week to squeeze into the new border I'm creating. I know I won't get much display this year as they're small, but next year should be good. I also want another hellebore...but NOT white!

Oh yes...and the chickens need cleaning out. Joy!

The stump was huge and he was hacking away out there for ages but I think it is out now :gnthb:

Now I have the fun part buying something to go in its place. Oh I do love my garden :luv:

Me.. in the garden today.. Just picked a few tomatoes and wondered at the size of some apples on my tree and the rosy glow that is now showing on some of them.

Pricked out my Spring Cauli and Cabbage (I'm sure they are too late), and the Swiss Chard for the greenhouse over winter (I'm sure they are too late),and the French beans, also for teh greenhouse overwinter, that have been chitting (I'm sure they are too late), and my last sowings of Pak Choi (I'm sure they are too late). I sowed the last Mooli and Chinese cabbage a week ago in newspaper pots; they have germinated and look very leggy :( I'm sure they are too late.

I also went on a hunt for the third and fourth mega pots, and my four Potato gro-sacks for my Xmas potatoes (which I lied about in an earlier post when I purported that I had planted them).

Hunted high and low ... then remembered I only have three mega pots and one of them has been reused :( and I only have 3 gro-sacks

    So I have 2 mega pots, 3 gro-sacks and 27 chitting seed potatoes ...

... I'll sleep on it and hope to think of Plan B tomorrow. Either way I'm sure they are too late

    Bit of a theme there ... :(

Fed up with brambles growing through fence from next door, when they went to work I nipped over dug them all out along with the other nasties rosebay, thistles etc cleared an area about 30ft x 30ft should be a while before they get anywhere near again, they probably think the garden fairies have been active.

I spent part of my day trimming my mixed boundary hedge and dead-heading numerous plants in the front garden. Oh! and did I say that I'm still dodging those pesky wood wasps? Well, I am:flag:
