I made a start to the smallest area of my front garden today, it's approx, 3.4 metres by 3.4m. I didn't have anything serious to deal with, just a little weeding and tidying up. Only one concern, everytime I put my spade into the soil, a tiny frog would leap out of the way.:flag: Now I'm beginning to think that I'd be better off waiting until it gets much colder. I'm doing up two hanging baskets tomorrow, at least there'll be no frogs to worry about there...:hehe:

Planted a few shallots and garlic today and noticed how dry it all appears out there. I dont think we have seen any useful rain in these parts for about 4 weeks,

Strawman, good for you getting the garden started. I had frogs jumping out too, made me jump :hehe:
Robert it has been sooo dry here- will be glad when it does rain and fills the butt again.
Today in the garden I sat and enjoyed it. I'm lacking in energy at the moment but hope to get back to normal soon. I did some watering :)

Picked a few runner beans and tomatoes this morning. For the rest of the day it can look after itself while I get on with me gatekeeper table.
Oh yes.. topped up the pond as we have not seen any rain for awhile.

There was more runners and tomatoes to pick this morning.
The beans are very near finishing but the outside toms are still producing.
Had a close encounter with a Robin this morning which was a good start to the day..

Thats the end of the runner beans for this season. All removed except for a couple that are still producing beans and some beans I have left for seed next year.
The clemetus Montana had to be cut back hard to make way for the fencing guys who are arriving on Wednesday to install a section of Redwood fenching, gate and Oak posts. This is to replace something I put together a number of years ago and was not me best effort..

"[/i]Thats the end of the runner beans for this season.[/i]"

yup ripped mine out a couple of days ago. Got a bit carried away actually as they were still quite green, but forecast said "frost soon" ... and I now wonder if I might have left them to try to produce a few more beans. But there again we've had our fill of bean-glut for this year :thumb:

"Wednesday to install a section of Redwood fencing, gate and Oak posts. This is to replace something I put together a number of years ago and was not me best effort."

I hesitate to suggest that the new Redwood fence they install will be "one of your better efforts"? :D
