What a nice surprise finding spuds in the compost! I have found them but they have not been worth eating.
Nothing wrong with being busy, better than sitting around achieving nothing :)

Today in the garden OH decided we needed to tidy up so he swept leaves, and moved pots while I emptied pots of summer plants. I also put geraniums in pots hoping I can save them :)
I cleared the old tomato plants out and put the delicate plants in the plastic greenhouse for winter protection.
Phew I need a cup of tea now :thumb: It does look a lot tidier though.

We have managed to get a good start on the tidying up in the garden even though it is very soggy out there.

Cleared one of our compost heaps

and started spreading it on the beds

Hi Shiney, It looks lovely, so neat and tidy! I like the way you have the curves in the border too, it's natural looking. Can't wait to see it in the flesh so to speak :)
I think getting the compost out is such a rewarding job. I keep some of ours to put in the containers as well.

All nice and neat, Shiney, and how lovely to see a few dabs of colour to brighten things up a bit.

What are those leaves close to the ground in the third pic between the hedge and the strappy plant, please?

Today, despite the rain I managed to get a net across my koi-pool before most of this lot came down, although I did have to first clear out a few with my big net.

They are of the Jerusalem Sage family. This one is Phlomis Russeliana and not fruticosa. It is quite hardy, a vigorous grower, grows up to 3 or 4ft in a very upright manner with lovely yellow flowers spaced evey so often completely circling the stem.

The bees absolutely adore it. They lift up the flap on the flower and burrow inside with their bottoms sticking out. Mrs shiney has great fun just stroking the back of the bees whilst they are in the flower and they don't seem to mind :D. They then have to wiggle backwards to get out.

Thanks, Shiney, they are really lovely, and I see that the bee thinks so, too.

More leaf collection today. Can't do any more until they come down, which is a good job as the green bin is full and won't be collected until Monday.
