I can't see it being too problematic if the soil's healthy enough for the other plants @Alisa. It doesn't transplant well in my experience, but as it's already there, it should be ok. You might need to thin it out though!
I like leaving some for the bees too, but I lost my plants a couple of years ago. Fortunately there was one seedling which had managed to survive in a little corner so I've been able to pot it up and it's growing nicely. I only grow the wild one.

I'd be careful about toms at low temps too, even under cover @On the Levels. If they're big enough they'll just stall a bit though if they get chilled. Small plants might struggle far more. Mine are only at the first proper leaf stage so I'll just be pricking them out soon and keeping them on the windowsills for a while yet.

 

My tomatoes seem very behind. They are just sitting! Some have proper leaves but not all. Shall I put them back in heated propagator or just a window sill in a warmer room.
Advice please I went to B&Q on Saturday their tomato plants are huge!

 

I'd be inclined to just keep them ticking over and maybe a window sill would be good, depending on where you have them now.
For me the weather is not playing ball, and until it does I don't think much movement can be expected.

I'd try not going back in a propagator if you can avoid it, not a closed one anyway.

 

They are in the porch which is full of light but chilly. May move them into the dining room and try not to worry. Thanks @pete

 

Well mine got cold about a week ago and are decidedly sulking. I have been putting them in the greenhouse ( unheated) during the day and bringing them into the house in the evening, tedious but just maybe they will decide to cooperate, before July! Oh yes and we are due -2oC tonight so better keep the log burner going full blast.

 

@JWK I have a tiny unheated greenhouse just 6foot by 8foot it’s my pride and joy! The tomatoes will go in there if they ever grow. Only gardeners delight from a packet I bought last year for 19p. I am also planning fancy cucumbers and there is a tiny olive tree in there too, also pots of basil once the weather improves.
I shouldn’t compare I know but on here and on sale locally the tomatoes are much more advanced.

 

Some people like to put a lot of effort into growing tomatoes early, it's you choice how you go about it, but I just tend to mostly go with the season and weather, rather than battle against it.

The plants in the likes of B&Q have probably been grown with a fair amount of heat and possibly lighting so often go backwards for a while when planted out if you don't have the same conditions for them.

Microtomatoes on the windowsill setting up little tomatoes. Sown 21.02., moved into 13cm pots on 19.03. (Biobizz all mix). Then into 2L pots 13.04. Mix of biobizz and jack magic. Didn't feed.
