Today was a productive day. 12 plants planted out in the greenhouse. Around 10 more for outside and 4 peppers moved into up to 2l pots. Now comes that part where I'm still learning :). Fingers crossed the weather becomes warmer as promised.

Yesterday was a huge non day for me. I could barely walk for pain in my hip. Brought about by sitting on a hard dining chair for a couple of hours when my daughter and I went for lunch on Saturday.
      Very frustrating.
My hip is slightly easier this morning this morning. I managed to put a couple of small washes out yesterday, real drying weather. I have just cancelled the MOT for the car this morning. I cannot face driving or sitting waiting for an hour. I have to wait until next week to take the car in.

Managed to get my kiwis in, as well as my black currant bushes. My peas out the front are doing well but the back is nada, might turn into salad. I think toms and peppers can go out next week, im desperate for the toms as theyre getting so etoliated indoors.
Notable: The peppers I saved from last year that I fully pruned are only leafing on new stems, the old stems are basically inactive. Perhaps either no pruning or much harder pruning makes more sense than what I did: I only took leaves off because of aphids though...

speaking of aphids: theyre absolutely everywhere, all over my mint, quinces, peas. But plenty of ladybugs so im not worried. Someone once said that in 10 generations of aphids uneaten would weigh as much as 500,000 men! Lets all thank the predators for having anything to eat :rolleyespink:

Chastity bags on Bloody Butcher and Sweet'n'Neat Scarlet. To the right is Not Brandysweet Plum, whose Mama clearly wore no such thing. PXL_20240501_054610104~2.jpg

I've decided that it's time for my tomato seedlings to put on their big girls' pants. They've been outside for a few days now and are looking much better than when they were inside.
I can't see there being another frost here but if there is, there's always the supermarket.

My tomatoes confuse me - however tiny they are, and even if the roots are nowhere near the edges or bottoms of the pots, they just take off within a day or so when I plant them in giant pots...
                Does anyone else find this?

I grow Tomatoes from seed each year, I find them hit & miss early on but always end up with a bumper crop.

It's about now that I make the decision as to how many, realistically, we need.
Those that make the cut will be potted on; any surplus will be advertised (gratis) on FB.
I've got my Quadgrow wicks arriving tomorrow.
                            It's all go.
