The sungolds are speeding up, the Brandywines are starting to turn and the Roma's are too :)

You wouldn't be bragging would you @Loofah ? Another Sungold turning here but it seems the others intend to stay green for as long as they think they can get away with it. I've been giving them kindly advice for the last week or so but I may just have to resort to threats from now on !!

:) by 'starting to turn' I mean they're slightly less green than the others!
I had the sungolds for lunch though and really tasty!

My Romas are green, hiding behind a jungle of leaves which i haven't been able to sort out due to cataract ops. I would normally be starting to harvest them.

Glad you enjoyed your Sungolds @Loofah My 2 have a wee bit to go yet. Odd sometimes how people react to this type tho. A couple of years ago, I took 6 beautiful ripe ones round to my NDN. She looked at them and said " Oh, they aren't ripe yet are they ? " I did explain that they were never going to turn red but not sure she actually believed me

This feels like 2021 all over again! In the greenhouse, the very first signs of ripeness on Chocolate Sprinkles. Slightly better progress in the conservatory; Not Brandysweet Plum gave me a ripe one yesterday. Sweet and juicy but probably a cross so I won't be able to replicate it. I have a lot of tomatoes ripening, Sungold leading the pack, closely followed by Tonnelet, Jaune Flamee and Gerald's Mystery; bringing up the rear are Alicante, Monte Carlo and Campbell's 33.
The plants are shorter than in most years and I haven't had any blossom end rot this year, I generally get some early in the season.

They should start ripening soon now that you are going to get some warmer weather!

Sungold has just started to ripen both in the greenhouse and outside. Ate the first one a couple of days ago from the outside one. The house tomato has provided a handful of ripe ones but that was started off under lights in February. The Rosella I planted in the garden and left to its own devices has produced 2 fruit. So far no blight on the outside ones, I hope I am not tempting fate!

Picked the first Brandywine today, a smidge early so it can finish off indoors and encourage the rest of the plant to pick up the pace!
