Utter piffle! I sowed my micro dwarfs (destined for windowsills and patio pots) along with my peppers in December but I only sowed my last seeds (outdoor cordons) last week. Timing depends on what types you're sowing, what growing-on facilities you have and the eventual siting of the plant. Your timing sounds spot-on. :blue thumb:

I will be starting mine tomorrow. And I am confident it's the right time Even with my zone 5 conditions.

That’s good to know - I have the windowsills but no greenhouse yet. If I have anything to harvest I will be happy.

Thanks for the tip - I will check BG as I didn’t know they did fact sheets.

I didnt know it was possible, but my tomato plants have actually started to germinate already. This was them yesterday, 72 hours after I planted them.

Good luck with your toms @SuzFlowers - mine germinated 2 or 3 weeks ago but because I have nowhere suitable indoors, they had to go out in the GH to prevent them getting too leggy. Some just showing true leaves but due to the weather here, they aren't doing very much. Must admit, I don't usually sow them this early so a timely reminder to keep to my usual schedule.
@eatenbyweasels your Bloody Butchers look good; I used to grow those too. Good flavour.

I've only sown one seed up till now, my main sowing for outdoors will be in a couple of weeks.

I have just sown my Toms, Shirley, sungold sun baby, and Roma. Not as exotic as many of you but tried and trusted.

Haven't grown Roma recently but Sungold is always a "must". There are so many new varieties now but if space is limited, I tend to stick to those I like the flavour of and which produce well.

I bought some plant halos yesterday, instead of renewing my DIY watering bottles as bending down to fill the bottles through out the day was getting family member concerned that I might loose my balance and fall over. "we will have to see if they work out"
