Anyone grown Totem?

Mine are progressing nicely - except they seem to be wandering about. The main stem looks a bit like twisted hazel and there are significant side shoots.
As it's supposed to be a dwarf bush variety I've not removed any side shoots.
I think some guidance is needed please

I reckon it's about time to plant out my toms into the greenhouse border. Thing is, my plants have become somewhat leggy. Any reason why I shouldn't plant them up to the hilt? That is to say, the last pair of leaves before the flowers.

Had to look it up Freddy as didn't have a clue but what i've just read said they can be planted 50 to 75% of their totall height with no problems...might give it a go with a couple myself

 

I don't know Jenny. What I DO know is that toms just want to grow, so I reckon that burying them up to the last pair of leaves SHOULD give me maximum trusses. If I take off all the leaves underneath, extra roots SHOULD result, I'm thinking. Just trying to get confirmation from the experts on here.

 

I'm afraid I'll strike underhouse cabling if I bury these Maskotkas up to the first truss!!

 

I'm not suggesting up to their first truss, just up to the leaves beneath. Over the years, I've noticed that the plant tends to stretch out as it grows. So, the leaves/trusses seem to progress upwards, if you know what I mean?

In 2 window boxes under the kitchen window - south facing. Their stems are quite soft - I'm thinking maybe I could lie them top to tail alongside each other? On their sides?

 

Yes, that would probably work. In the meantime, I'd get them outside in a warm spot, during the day. This should help to shorten the leaf axils, and make the plants more sturdy. Do NOT forget to bring them back in as soon as it starts to get cold, no matter what time of day/evening. I would aim to get them planted out around the 2nd week of June, but obviously a lot depends on the weather, as always:WINK1:
