I have toms turning orange as well, but they shouldn't be! They are supposed to be 'Sungold' which I've grown for the last three years. I'll put pics on when the upload issues are sorted and meanwhile Sutton's will be getting an email!

You're saying that normally your Sungold aren't orange? Mine have always been orange...

Hmmmmm.... My orange ones have a distinctly 'leathery' sort of look to their skins, almost like the skin is hardened somehow?

Not yet, they don't look fully ripened.

The texture of the skins is hard to describe - I must try and take a photo tomorrow and post it.

I must admit, I am dying to have my first homegrown tomato. The womenfolk have had the bulk of the produce from the garden so far, mainly cucumbers and strawberries, whereas I've had a couple of strawberries and a couple of lettuce leaves.

Goodness knows how either, I just feed 'em and water 'em the same as everything else. I still think it is ironic that I am growing plenty of the one thing that I simply cannot eat!

Nice in a long glass of 75% Pimms and 25% Lemonade !! You don't have to eat it - just a garnish.
I wonder how many Pimms you'd have to down in order to get through a whole cue?(hic)

They are usually a very deep yellow Freddy, see what you think in this picture please.

I didn't take any pictures last year to compare them too.

Even a sliver of one would make me really ill - the last time I inadvertently ate some at a friends house, he thought I was having a heart attack. Apparently I went a lovely shade of light grey, and that coupled with the sweats and the chest pains was enough to panic him.

And I don't like Pimms either :oopss: - which is quite remarkable given that I will drink just about anything else that is alcoholic (except Gin, which turns me into a horrible person)
