Feeding with seaweed extract so at least it might taste ok. The new toms are coming on great, really got away with this sunshine, just got to make sure I don't get the Big Zacs mixed up with the "toms for sale"

Am I worried? NO! and please spell definitely correctly in the future!

Once I've worked out the photobucket links, I'll upload a few pics, or should I say once my leggy tomatoes look "healthy" I will? :loll:

It's ok Ziggy, my eldest sister is an English teacher so I've got to make an effort?
She's useless at maths though, I had to coach her through her "teachers training" .....

My Toms spent the night in the greenhouse with no ill effects. I kept them in heated propagators covered in fleece. The propagators have a layer of pea shingle in them which helps retain residual heat. :)

I sowed my 11 free Maskotka seeds that were in with April's copy of Gardeners World last Friday; On a south facing sunny kitchen window sill. I was advised to keep them shaded with a sheet of kitchen towel by noon to stop 'em poaching themseles. They are up and about to have their plastic bag removed = brave new world for them tommorow as they breath in fresh air. Love this thread -it will guide me thru' my first ever attempt at growing my own toms!!
          Jenny namaste:ThankYou:

Some of my tomatoes are in my greenhouse, inside plastic mini-greenhouses for double protection:

These three are sitting on a heated 55Watt propagator, it's on a timer to come on at night, it's keeping them just frost free (lowest had been just above zero):

They look healthy and are starting to flower now, but they are growing very very slowly:

I will say this is a experiment, it's way too early for them to be out in a greenhouse, they could all be easily wiped out by a hard frost.

I see from your link that it comes from the Wagner family - lets hope it doesn't sing like the Wagner on BGT last year - horrendous.

There are two small ones in my greenhouse, bought last May, this photo is just a bit further left in the same greenhouse:

The really big one is outside and I've got everything crossed that it has survived.

Underneath the staging are my Ensete Maurellis, they have over-wintered OK and just starting to push out new growth even though the rootball is dry. I'm trying to stop them growing too quickly otherwise they would take over all the space in no time.
