After getting stem rot on tomatoes without any sign of leaf infection at my plot, I now have a tomato on one of my plants at home that appears to have blight but the plant doesn't have any sign of disease on it whatsoever:

Bit of a masacre in the blowaway today - the three Roma VF plants, which have grown well, taken over half the space & produced a total of three small green fruit are in the compost ; the remaining 6 plants have had a serious trim to increase the light & hopefully get some ripe fruit. Ive moved some pepper plants into the space.. its quite nice in there now - the bamboo thats invading from next door is loving it.

The skins on mine have been normal Jack, so I don't know what's happening with yours.

That does look like Late Blight, but if the rest of the plant is OK it doesn't quite stack up. Are you spraying with Bordeaux mixture just in case?

Help please. :) There's a new member posted a thread in General Discussion called 'Peppers and Tomatoes' and I've not come across this method of growing, could somebody take a look please.

I also stripped quite a few leaves off the toms more than i normally would this early but i think they'll be gratefull for some light....what i thought was going to be a dodgy year for my toms i think they're doing better than i expected:thumbsup: DSC02297 (1024x768).jpg DSC02306 (1024x768).jpg DSC02308 (1024x768).jpg

I think the recent sun has done all our tomatoes the power of good and brought them on, those of us that haven't lost them to blight or stem rot that is.

Wow Loli, that's an amazing crop!
I'm not lucky enough to have a greenhouse and am getting concerned that the very slow start we had to the summer is going to mean I end up with loads of green tomatoes and no ripe ones on my outdoor grown crops. This is my first real summer of growing toms so if anyone can offer me any advice on how to speed up fruiting and ripening I'd be very grateful. Or do I just have to accept that the poor summer has had an irreversible effect?
I picked my first 7-8 ripe cherries yesterday but my other plants (I have 6 plants of various varieties) are laden with a reasonable amount of fruits and lots of flowers...but time is running out now surely?!
Thanks, will try to post pics in future
