All GD seedlings from @JWK up and running, sown with the last of a mix of B&Q verve and a Westland mpc. Went to B&Q for a 120lt bale of verve but all gone, wouldn't buy the 50lt as previous bags were not the same consistency. For the first time I saw that they were stocking Jack's Magic although I didn't know it was Westland. Bought two anyway plus a bag of JI2.
All toms and peppers will be potted on with Jack's.

Found a Christmas present hiding under a pile of junk - minibel tomato seeds and compost in a bucket! First bush variety I've tried so looking forward to seeing it work on the patio

Some of our toms are just showing flowers. We've only kept a few but all the rest have been sold. All planted in Verve from B&Q.

It's OK as a general all rounder and a fairly reasonable price compared to others. £5.80 which is a lot higher in price than last year's 50 litres at £4.50. Their 125 litres is only £10 but I can't handle the weight :dunno: :old:

I didn't look at the contents of Jack's Magic when I bought it and didn't realise it had peat.
I shall still use it as the toms may grow better in it than last years rubbish.
I have a couple of baby plum toms growing saved from super market ones, hoping they might be tastier growing in compost than the probable hydroponic massed produced ones.

I've been buying toms called Piccolo, they actually taste nice for supermarket toms.

They are the only toms I buy from the supermarket.

Still too cold here to prep the beds :( I'm getting 2 degrees at 6am in the greenhouse. I'm guessing 10 degrees overnight is still needed for toms? Looks like we might get that far by early May...

I usually plant mine in an unheated greenhouse mid May. Yes 10c minimum ideally for tomatoes.

I've got two growhouses yet to be put up for the Italian varieties, so hopefully I can get them out in a few weeks. Then the ground bed late May fingers crossed. They're still growing on nicely in pots and spending their days outdoors.

First flower trusses forming from sowings made on 21st March - 5 weeks old.

Mine are growing really quick and are nice stubby plants, I think this is due to my new LED growlamps. In previous years I had a T5 fluorescent system.
