@FrancescaH It looks like a bacterial infection but am not sure. It must be something that variety is susceptible to and doubt it's anything to do with feeding. I have had problems like that with beefsteak types and had to throw most away some years , I think it's worse on your type that have lobe/lumps/bump shaped fruit.

Good to know it doesn't sound like blight. I'll keep an eye on them. I have two of these plants well away from each other and the other seems fine.

First ripening tomato on the Datteros. Absolutely in love with this plant so far and just hope the flavour is good. If so, they'll have to be planted up every year as they're just so prolific and fast.

Just take a look at the size of this truss. I've never grown cherries before so I'm sure some are not surprised but I am!

We have a few ripening, but I am hauling pots out of the greenhouse on an almost daily basis thanks to blight. I am stacking them up on the patio at the moment as I don't want to go spreading any spores to my outside tomatoes or potatoes.

Really terrible year for the garden this year, I should have stuck with my gut instinct and sat it out for a year.

Picked about 20 polytunnel toms today.

Pulled up 2 plants that were wilting every day and failing to thrive. Their stems below ground were decaying and the soil was full of red ants below both of them.

Got 2 spare plants in 10L pots and plenty of ant powder/poison.

Just a reminder about using aspirin on tomatoes as a defence against blight: use one soluble tablet in a litre of water and spray onto the leaves. Aspirin shocks the plants and raises their defence levels. It's not 100% effective but well worth doing for a tiny outlay.

With blight on a neighbouring plot, I'm doing my utmost to avoid getting water anywhere near the leaves of my outdoor tomatoes.

Haven't had any blight yet thankfully. Have no greenhouse cover this year so relying on pots scattered in different locations and hoping for the best.
First cherry type about ready at last!

I sprayed my toms with copper the other day, just in case, but to be honest the plants are rubbish, cant remember have such a bad set of plants.
My own seed grown incas are stunted and have some fruit but the plants just didn't get going.

Likewise the plants I bought, even red alert is rubbish, and the cherry types are not great.

I've been picking cherry ones from my overwintered plant, which I used as cuttings, but that was only intended as a early plant to come before the others.
To be honest, its pretty much a write off this year. and I can only blame the weather, far too wet IMO.

Agree with @JWK above regarding the aspirin.
Done the toms & peppers already and the buxus hedge gets some tomorrow.

Salad and beef steak tomatoes beginning to ripen, picking cherry tomatoes most days.
No blight, but some blossom end rot.

What do we reckon, is this going to ripen yellow or red?

This was my Homebase rescue. Now looking lush and healthy. I went back to Homebase recently and they still had some, they were "Tumbling Red" and also "Tumbling Yellow" so I have no idea which one it was that I got.

My money's on yellow. I think if it was going to ripen red it'd be more orange by now.

It's taking everything I've got in me to not eat that first red. But I'm seeing a nice salad in my future. Rocket from the back garden with some of these babies and a bit of balsamic vinegar and burrata I think.
