Today I cut my losses and picked all the toms in the tunnel - some red and some still green, binned all the iffy looking ones and put the rest on trays in the greenhouse where they'll ripen over the next few weeks. If we have too many to use we'll dehydrate them and store in plastic bags where they'll keep for years.
I've lifted all the stems and binned them and later this year I'll remove the top inch or so of soil. water the bed in the tunnel with Jeys and cover it with plastic in the hope that it will kill any spores of blight.

Had never thought of watering the soil with jeyes. Does it leave any build-up or residues over the years?

I was thinking of doing the old Jeyes fluid method myself next year, if I do bother growing any.

I stopped using it for some reason, it was only when I found a can in the shed I thought it might be worth a try.

Well worth using Jeyes to sterilize the soil, I got a couple of tins when they were on sale earlier in the year.

Off topic, but I will be spraying my apple trees and grapevines with it after pruning this winter.

I think I need to to the whole greenhouse with Jeyes this year to be honest - if I do anything next year, another failure would certainly see me throw the towel in I think

Dilute and spray or watering can. Get in all the nooks and crannies to get rid of pests etc
It's a tar derivative I think and it stinks!

I will use it in solution, most likely through the pressure washer, to clean the glass and the ground. Smells lovely in my opinion, but then I am a bit odd...

If they come into contact with it whilst it is wet, I would reckon it would

I got plenty of sluggo spread over the top soil in the new greenhouse that i built from my raised beds, just in case there was some in there…..it will get rid of them quick enough
