Not whitefly I suggest? Usually on growing point (could be there as well I suppose) When they attack me that's where they start and then flyaround before taking a rest on the underside of leaves.
Could be the dreaded burrowers of last week but they usually solo?? Certainly predatory insects though?!

In a week's time I expect to put my tomato plants in the growbags. You are supposed to wait until they show flowers before putting them in the bags, it even says so on the bags. I haven't seen any flowerbuds on my plants at the moment but then where they are at present it's difficult to reach them. Just watering them is an exercise in acrobatics! :heehee:

All my toms are getting stocky but not exactly putting on height, not sure why. All outdoors

What sort of compost are you using @Loofah ? The peat free I have used needed additional feeding, I used Miraclegro until I got flowers.

Some in the ground and some multi-purpose, both are just going slow

I think when you compare a greenhouse plant to an outdoor plant the height is the most noticeable.
Distance between leaves up the stem is about half I would say.

I have outdoor plants in a couple of places, the ones in my veg patch are half the size of the greenhouse ones. I have some in a container on the patio, it's south facing and very sheltered. They are doing really well with fruit swelling, although they are bush varieties so can't compare height.

The ones I planted on the allotment a couple of weeks ago have hardly moved.
But I think the ground is still not very warm for tomatoes especially the area where I'm trying no dig.
