Amazing set of, for me, unknown and different varieties!

 

Are the sungold ones that supermarkets sell? I like the taste of them.

Hi john,

This is my first year with smfl so I have no idea. The size of the inflorescence was the thing that interested me as well as it's growing habit. An interesting trait to experiment with in crosses.

 

A couple more as thumbs (see bucket experiment to see how adventurous rooting might help)

 

My outdoor Tumbling Tom Yellow have started to ripen, picked my first today.

 

@JWK I hope so, they have each got a same stock neighbour for comparison purposes. Last year was a bit of a nightmare, I planted out early may, got hit by the hailstorms and icy weather when the weather turned. Got damaged plants then early blight, so I boosted nitrogen for a while to regrow to make back time, only later to get bit by blight. I still got quite a few tomatoes but some varieties, the less resistant ones and delicate sunflower varieties have up the ghost. The blight spread far and wide last year. Stupice did incredible last year in terms of growth, fruit production and resistance, some others not so.

@eatenbyweasels Some good looking plants there...I had no success with Jaune flammee last year, damping off disease caught me out on them.

 

My second year of JF. My neighbour adored it last year so I repeated it this year for her.

My only damping off this year, was Sungella, which was brilliant the year before. #weird
