    Sheps,
Using it the way you are, it should be included in your watering regime every 3 to 4 days until the growth is noticeably better (this information is from the rear of the bottle). If you are adding it to your Quadgrow tank, the solution should be half strength and added weekly.

    Good luck

@Ademission thanks very much, is it ok to use along side my regular feed?

@Sheps Even a fugly can be dextrously carved onto a serving plate, it just won't win the prize for the "you eat with your eyes" award.....

My poor toms seem to have survived being cut back so drastically & are now responding! I gave them a general purpose feed again this morning in the hope that they will put on a growth spurt with the warmer weather forecast for the coming weekend. I've never had such a poor start to the season!

                Sheps,

I think so as its a supplement (i.e. extra to your normal feed). Just follow the directions on the back of the bottle.

I had a good look at my chilis after using Calmag and I believe they are starting to look better now. The yellow leaves with the brown bits on them will not recover but new growth should be better. I was advised to cut these affected leaves off.

                Hope this helps

I've had to tie up a couple of trusses to stop them breaking. I tie the heavy truss to the next leaf up using ribbon which doesn't dig into the stems at all

Yeah, definitely a mistake on my part, I have other trusses tied up, just not the one with the biggest toms, silly me.

So I've only gawn and done it now. I tightened up the top of a vine to correct it swerving off in a sideways direction. We had a little wind, it was all too much, the break of the tip was pretty clean. Now, let's hope for another side shoot to take over (wish I hadn't been so diligent in removing suckers now)

Lesson learned, if you need to redirect growth, gently day-by-day does it. Little increments not like your pulling a bow to shoot an arrow.

The forthcoming warm/hot spell is being anticipated on my patch! Lots of buds /trusses growing out (it's the colour of trusses I think) However I'm having to restrain the gardener, new to observing growth, from 'encouraging' plants too much. I think she expects the plants to develop quickly, whilst my philosophy is to 'let them get on with it' ! This of course can lead to 'forgetfulness' which is bad!!!

I remember reading years ago that when tying in grape vines you do it carefully and early morning when the shoots are hard.
If you do it when they are softer and slightly limp they will probably snap when the sap gets flowing back and temperatures are lower.
Not saying that happened with your Tommy but worth a thought.

I'm having one or two issues too, some varieties appear to have a 90 deg bend on the growing tip and refuse to be wound back, in the past I've resorted to another bit of string to encourage them back into the vertical. I've had to lower one plant as it got to over 8 foot, so stripped off the bottom leaves and laid the stem on the soil, that meant I had to angle adjacent plants to stop them getting tangled, a couple of extra arms would have helped. Whilst I was doing this another plant twanged back free with a snap sound, but didn't break anything. A beefsteak variety keeps sliding down the string under the weight of the fruit, temporarily I've put a tile to hold the fruit off the soil. I'm going to have to codge up a support for the trusses.

Meanwhile in the smaller greenhouse the plants have hit the eave height (about 6ft) and I'm training them along the angle of the pitched glass roof, they will be at the apex soon with no-where to go.

I tried taking a photo but it looks more messy than my description.

@pete, you could be right. The wind was only slight and surprised me why that would happen. Your comment makes more sense.
