Last year I did San Marzanno Fire outside, it struggled with the weather we had, so this year it takes a position in the greenhouse. The protected growing and extra heat seems to do be bringing it on a treat.

@mazambo I see flowers on there so hopefully more will set soon. A gentle flick now and then won't hurt.

I have been away for 5 days and left my plants to fend for themselves. The greenhouse plants look ok with my leaky hose watering pipe on a timer. The outdoor ones in the soil are ok too, I just have one container with bush varieties that has dried out, it has a small water reservoir which helped, think they will recover

Super Sweet 100 are ripening really quickly with the recent hot weather, just not sure how the plants in the greenhouse are going to handle the forecasted 35C temps on Monday and Tuesday, dread to think what the greenhouse temps are going to be.

It seems my drastic "beheading" of the plants has had the desired effect & now they are growing like crazy & I've even found a plant with 3 small toms on it! To think just a month ago I was about to pull them up & throw them away! Just goes to show what a little patience can do (& some hard chopping back!)

@Sheps a little sand , a palm or two, the sound of the sea slow!y lapping on the shore (Alexa good for that) and a deck chair and a tall glass of what you can fancy cocktail and imagine mauritious, canaries, carabean, thailand, hawaii . Sit there with a little spray misting the plants and youself :-)

                          Hello all,
Maskotka tomatoes are starting to ripen in volume and so time to harvest a few per day. Other varieties not ready yet.

                              Sheps,
Yes, very nice and sweet with thin skins. This is our 3rd (or 4th) year growing Maskotka as our main variety. We have a few other varieties in lesser quantities, but these are untried until later in the season as they ripen.

How are you getting on with the Calmag? Did it solve the leaf Browning issue?

@Ademission good to hear they're tasty.

As for the Calmag, three treatments in and there is a little improvement, though I'm not expecting the really brown leaves to improve that much.

Will keep alternating the Calmag and the Maxicrop feed and see how it works out.
