Lovely hauls! I've still only had a few bloody butchers and sungolds. The rest are green but mainly looking good.

They look nice and healthy @Hanglow and a very interesting selection. Be interested to learn what they taste like soon hopefully.

Yes I am very much looking forward to trying the siberian ones, the bigger beefsteak and oxheart ones especially. Compared to the Costoluto Fiorentino that is RHS AGM which I am also growing they are being vastly more productive.

Of course there is still plenty of time for the harvest to be reduced and they might be bland

I tipped out a Tomato plant that had gone floppy/died, at the bottom of the pot was 2 small Green Tomatoes or were they Potatoes? Or has the Sun really go to me:old:

I had a phase of growing tomtatoes by grafting a tomato top to a potato bottom, to get two crops in the same space. You could buy them from garden centres, any chance it was one of those you bought.

I think Pete is right, I should go to a darken room.

@Loofah My toms were burned almost to a crisp yesterday with the extremely hot wind we had all day. Look what's happened to my poor plants:

This was caused by the extremely hot air not by lack of water in the growbags, I'd watered them at 9am & this is how they looked at about 7.30pm. I guess I won't be harvesting many tomatoes this year!

20220720_174110.jpg difficult to see but the tips of my Sungolds got way too hot in yesterdays heatwave. I moved the parasol over to shade them but quite a few tops have shrivelled and , in spite of copious watering, they have nor recovered. Should I cut them off? 20220720_174110.jpg

My toms on the allotment took full sun all day and they are still ok, I did water them on Monday though.
I moved one container plant into the semi shade yesterday morning as it was starting to droop at the top. That one is ok now also.

If you have a side shoot further down then yes, cut off the crisped top, the side shoot will then become the new main growing point.

Mine look very similar! Even the ones in the ground are unhappy as we have very sandy soil.

I can't do that any more as the stems that have now been burned were the replacements for the original wilted stems! I'll just have to see if they recover & continue to grow & flower & see if I get a few tomatoes. The few that were already growing will probably end up with BER!

Just wonder if the problem is radiated heat off the wall.
I thought I saw them against a wall in one of your pictures @Balc the airflow around the back of the plants would be non existent or at best very hot.
