My plants looked nothing like what you show in your picture! Mine just wilted from the top down. Eventually the whole stem died back, but this took a couple of months. I kept the plants growing by letting side shoots form & grow - till they eventually succumbed to the wilting as well. Not a single plant made it passed about 4ft. Out of 12 plants I got less fruit than a single plant would yield in a "poor" year! (AKA a typical UK summer!)

Wow - tomatoes til Christmas and beyond then. Will you need to heat the Greenhouse once it gets really cold?

 

Amazing yet again! What wonderful plants to have grown, and still growing!!! Mine are far more normal, for me at least, but providing us with enough and cooking for the freezer. Curiously ALL the greenhouse plants are now on the compost heap, fruit picked and the bloody whitefly denied their sustenance!! Those outdoors still producing though including the indoor Ddraig Goch (now for sale at Dobies (one 'b')) shall still buy mine from Medwyn though!!! However what a reliable variety!!
Regarding mushroom compost: used it a great deal 50 years ago in Somerset. One of my pupils had a father who grew mushrooms so he'd drop off a lorry load of spent compost when he was in a hurry!! Great stuff, and I presume, had no chemical additions! Hadn't heard about this particular nasty contaminant. Although used grow (or is it 'gro') bags over the years I've never had problems that I've been aware of. Always possible that the cause of problems have been put down to other causes I suppose!!?

 

For some It's been a very good year for Tomatoes for others is been poor, I could count on one hand how many I've eaten this season But ha we carry on next season.

 

Have you tried pegging the layered stems down @JWK or burying them.
Just wondering if they would root.

 

What healthy growth with so little disease which they look like they've got over!!!

These Tom's keep surprising me every day!!! First the variety, then the cross section!! Is it cooked in the picture? PICO DE GALLO? Please educate me!

Fresh Tom's chopped, onion(or shallots, spring onions etc) chilli usually jalapeno but anything you want really, bit of salt and some acid, lime is good but any decent vinegar will do as well. And coriander
