So that's what it is!! Thanks! We make the stuff but without the toms for me! Lots of herbs and tepid chilies, together withe tips of lettuce leaves, the odd flower, and yes lemon/lime juice or an odd vinegar!!

And that's it for me this year, all plants have been removed and winter salads in their place.

Last three bigger toms, including an outside crimson crush that had suffered from blight earlier in the season then put out a few shoots after the worst of it had passed. It and the Cherokee purple have just started to turn so should ripen. Not sure about the heart shaped sevryuga.

I've still got some green ones hanging around hoping to ripen.
Its years since I've had any this late in the season.

@Hanglow Congratulations on your last few toms! Now we can look forward to next years sowing - in 6 months' time! :)

@pete I've had a few tomatoes on the balcony other years even this late into the season!

Unfortunately this year was a disaster with my plants suffering from "wilt".

Still picking from the greenhouse, plenty more green ones ripening slowly

All the allotment outdoor plants have got blight even the so called resistant varieties. I have a few outdoor plants at home still going, black opal is the best.

At the allotment, this one is Vesper supposedly resistant to late blight

@JWK Your toms look really delicious! Shame about the ones on the allotment with blight though!

Gardener tells me she's pulled up ALL the Tom plants so I noticed the pile of green ones. I said I was looking forward to Green Tomaro Chutney and was informed that they were ALL turning orange and red! (I'd told her the trick of using an over-ripe banana in a bag with green toms!!) Good thing her normal chutney is so good!!!
No blight here at all particularly because most plants outside were Crimson Crush! Noticed that someone (above) had blight on theirs, how unlucky!! Most were grown using plastic things with central planting hole and watering 'moat'. Decided I'm going to use them, where they are, for Broad Beans as easy to plant/water. Only problem might be the mice/voles that enjoyed most of the seed planted last Autumn! My soil still a little warm, particularly this week (she's planted some of the Foxglove seedlings I grew and they've taken ok)

I always use mouse traps when sowing beans or peas. Little illegitimate children always find a way to eat them otherwise

Ha I like the word replacement

I have had a humongous harvest this year. The front of my house became the village pick-your-own, with me chirping "Help yourselves!" to neighbours and latterly beseeching "Take some! Pleeeeease!" at dog-walkers and random passers-by.

I had quite a few labelling errors, leaving me uncertain as to what I was growing in some cases. However, I have seeds of the following available if anyone fancies them. See the Tomato Taste thread for descriptions.

                      Chickie Cherry
                      Rosella Cherry
                      Maskotka
                      Santorini
                      Dwarf Velvet Night
                      Grushovka
                      Tonnelet.

I'd take you up on your kind offer of seeds but I still have 3/4 packet from the seeds I bought online this year! I only plant about a dozen as there's no room on the balcony for more.

Blight has reached my garden outside plants

The greenhouse is only a few yards away and so far remains blight free:

I've removed a couple of the blander varieties to give the better ones a bit of space and ventilation.

About half of my plants are blight resistant or blight tolerant but they have all been wiped out at the same time. You're right though, they have done very well so no complaints.

There are still more than enough ripening in the greenhouse, can't recall having plants still producing this late before.
