Would that be a bit smelly in the greenhouse?

But well reminded - I need to cut down my Bocking14

I had this last year with plants grown in 11l pots, I thought it was a nutrient deficiency from using peat free compost. They eventually recovered I think when the roots got out the drainage holes and into soil. I seem to recall others having this wilting issue too.

This year I am growing the same varieties but direct in the greenhouse border, with lots of manure. The only wilting has been when they neede watering.

Are yours in pots? Peat free ?

Yes in peat free but ones on the allotment in the ground are similar, they just dont seem to stand up to the heat, the only time they looked ok was when it rained last week.

I tried it on some water melons in a cold frame, all four are now dead, was it the nettle tea or just poor conditions, I think the tea might be going in the drain..........................

            Did you dilute it?
I've never killed anything with it.

              It definitely needs diluting!

Well...something I wasn't expecting was Blossom End Rot.

This is one of the Amish Golden, which is turning out to be a plant that isn't enjoying the greenhouse environment.

All the other plants are doing ok, maybe a touch of heat stress in the last few weeks as it's been really hot in the greenhouse.

The plants are in Quadgrows so no issues with watering and I have been feeding with Maxicrop Organic Tom Feed and as a top up to prevent BER they have been given Cal-Mag which should have stopped it.

Hopefully it will grow out of the BER @Sheps I had it last year for a few weeks about this same time and then it went away, I forget the variety but it was only a couple of plants and they all had exactly the same treatment, compost, watering and feed.

Yes I did dilute it, pretty much the same as I do with the bought stuff, no idea if the tea is sstronger or weaker than Seaweed extract?

See attached, most of my plants have two or more main stems. I have cut top of all the extra main stems and kept much less trusses. Hopefully this will make difference.

Thanks John... hopefully mine will do the same.

Like yours, all mine were treated the same, consistent watering and feeding.

I dont think it would have killed anything unless the nettles had been treated with weedkiller just before you made the brew.

The varieties are blight resistant and we've been lucky with none of the Phytofera (??) showing itself. This year we seem to be deliberately attracting it!!!
Yes ..... well this tech stuff not really controlled yet! Sorry!! This is my son and his partner's Welsh Sheepdog, Cynwch, who's brilliant!! As well as mountaineering she also likes climbing, as you can see! I will look for my Tom's pics!!
Got it! Very close together aren't they!? If the blight's about we'll lose them all in a couple of days!! Ah well!

This morning in my friend's greenhouse: Santorini, Gerald's Mystery and Tumbling Monster(s), a selection from Tumbling Tom.
I'm not sure if the latter is meant to be plural. I assumed it referred to the fruits being larger than the usual Tumbling Tom. However, as the fruits are titchy, I now assume that "monster" refers to the plant's productivity.
