This year's Gardener's Delight has grown very strongly, it has a very thick stem and long trusses

I think you'd be wise to "stop" your big tomatoes, @Grandma Sue . I 've stopped everything except some small cherries. We're all so behind due to the weather that new flowers of bigger varieties seem unlikely to become ripe fruit. I'll be giving away saved seed later on on the year, if you'd like some cherries that are definitely cherries.

That's absolutely the picture of health, @JWK . Is it indoors or out?

All mine are in a greenhouse.

The wide angle lens makes it look bigger than it is, 12ft x 8ft

Have I got Early Season Rot on some of my Toms? It looks the same as when they die off from Sept onwards.

We went away for six days, came back and a few had yellow wilting leaves/leaf trusses, and when you remove the affected bits you get a load af spores drift off. They're in a greenhouse, some had died altogether (Fireworks and Steak Sandwich), some just had a few wilting leaves. The worst affected were all near each other. Grown in fresh compost from reused (not disinfected) pots.

Strangely the GD2005 plants off GWK that are outside getting soaked are a vigourous picture of health trained over an arch!

              TIA!

They weren't dry and brittle, they were kind of limp and moist. Some of the stem bits (with the spores coming off) were kind of weak and spongy.

I meant was the compost dried out - how was it watered whilst you were away ?

Sorry I use 12L fabric pots sat in 2" deep plastic trays, so I gave them a good soak before we left and relied on the wick effect.

They didn't feel particularly dry when we got back, but come to think of it some used different compost so maybe some drained too freely over the pots? I'll have a look in the morning.

Just to prove I really do grow a few, but nothing like the scale that some of you do.
                      Honey comb (orange)
                      Honey delight (yellow)
And my first outdoor Crimson crush. that's the red one.;)

Some pics of the current status. Greenhouse ones seem a bit leggy and some disease but I guess they struggle for light and all this wet weather.

The outdoor ones look a mess cos I underestimated the spacing of the GD2005 plants but they seem a lot happier than my greenhouse ones. IMG_20230802_113906_515.jpg IMG_20230802_114055_333.jpg IMG_20230802_114107_180.jpg IMG_20230802_114328_088.jpg
