Very strange how we start with tomatoes and end up with SPAM. Spam, and more spam.. lol
Not had it for years, but seem to recall plenty of spam fritters have passed my way.
You all known what stands for..?
    Sure you do..
    Spiced Pork And HaM
    Unless you know any different????
It was launced in USA on July 5th 1937 (8 years to the day before I was born) and when offered to us during the 2nd war it was known as Specially Processed American Meats.
Many jocular backronyms have been devised, such as "Something Posing As Meat", "Specially Processed Artificial Meat", "Stuff, Pork and Ham", "Spare Parts Animal Meat" and "Special Product of Austin Minnesota".
This ends your education on SPAM.:luv:

Interesting facts about Spam Robert :thumb:

Penny; it's one of those foods you either love or hate - same with marmite.

No it doesn't :) Bovril on the other hand .... in a sandwich with crunchy cucumber slices - now you're talking!

And whilst on the subject of Spam - with or without tomatoes - my Mother (a bit of a 'closet snob') would never buy Spam, she always went for the 'Chopped Ham and Pork Luncheon Meat' although they were both equally grim.... still are, in fact my son-in-law had never heard of Spam fritters so I witnessed my daughter cooking him some. They say your tastes change as you get older, that's as maybe, but it doesn't make Spam fritters any better!
