Just like 'Cajary' i too grow 'Tumbler' here in Yorkshire, usually buying plants from a local nursery but this year from seed. I've seen them in hanging baskets at the nursery but you'd need to keep up with the watering.

I have lots of gardener's delight seedlings growing. Would some of them be any good in hanging baskets< I don't really want to pay out extra for tumbling toms.
    thanks, Gillian.

No, not really gillian. They grow to the extent that they need staking and you wouldn`t get your stick into a hanging basket to make it anything like secure enough.Do you see what i mean?

Yes, I understand that. I didn't know if I could keep taking off the growing tips to encourage to bush out more, that was all. Maybe I'll pick up a tumbling tom at car boot sales this weekend.

I got 2 tummbling toms at my garden centre 99p each but I get 20% discount cos I work there. So I paid 79p. They are in a hanging basket and are really bushy with loads of flowers on. [IMG]

This year we have Shirley, Alicante and Moneynaker
Discontinued Ailsa Craig because, whilst it is very tasty, it tends to suffer from 'green shoulder'
Also discontinued yellow varieties because they are very sweet and dont last very long

I'm growing Marglobe and Gardener's Delight, which are what I was recommended to grow for outdoors - but then again, I never have had much luck with tomatoes. I think I'm too erratic on the care and feeding front!

First fruit on the Tumblers visible. Just hope these winds slow down a bit, the stems tend to rub against the edge of the pots.
