kristen: that's the post on here that I was thinking about, I couldn't find it doing a search - must remember to add it to my favourites.

That's annoying getting weed seeds in your seed packets, I once accidntally grew a single lobelia seedling in a large pot when I transplanted a batch of begonia seedlings, I thought it was growing well (about 4 times the size of the begonias) I only realised it was a lobelia when it flowered. That was my fault as I'd sown lobelia in the garden at the same time and one seed must have stuck to my hand.

"must remember to add it to my favourite"

I'm making a little list for a FAQ experiment as per http://www.gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=208944#post208944

Not sure it was in the seed packet, could have been the seed compost, or a side effect of some other activity. Actually not sure quite what, now I type that, as it would have been very early in the year and no seed flying about, even if I did have a large glass of wine to assist the seed sowing and became a bit ... cack-handed!

I cant remember where I mentioned it but my mini greenhouse blew over when my plants were seeds, and since most stuff was in peat pots it all fell out into my veg patch. I then tried to save my plants, obviously picking out fat hen thinking they were toms. :( Oh well, theres yet another stupid mistake, im not cut out for this veg gardening!! I think i will get rid of the fat hen and will put my toms that are in the pots into the grow bag.

Thanks for your help, it answers a lot of my questions!

There are still Tom plants in my local garden centre - carrying about 3 or 4 trusses now. Prob. not cheap, but if you wanted something to grow for this year it might be an option?
