I think peterS started it all of with the "Cannas - 10 things you didn't know " sticky in the tropical section , from last August. I always thought cannas were way to exotic for me to grow from seed. But I have had great fun growing some this year. The pic below shows them at 1 week old , and today I will be planting my 5 month old "triffids" out ! :dbgrtmb:

Excellent Harry, mine will be planted up this weekend too. Maybe next year I'll grow some from seed as buying plants has worked out a bit expensive (I know I can over-winter the tubers)

I planted out 40 yesterday grown from the seed harvested from the 6 I sowed last Autumn (under lights). So apart from the hundred-quid for the lights, and quite-a-bit for the Leccy, they've only cost me a quid or two for the original 6 seeds!

I have 50 mixed seeds in a tuppawear tub, on damp cotton wool, in the sun, on the garden bench. These are my 1st "EVER" seeds! I did what was advised and nicked them with a file and soaked them for 24 hours followed up with the above and already (approx a week) some of them have little nibs coming from the nicks. Its all very exciting!! :dancy:

Is this the time to plant them in a pot in the green house?
