Training Big Fuchsia Plants for Tubs

    Yes Kristen .I think that idea would be good . The main thing is to be able to maintain that older framework each year . I do keep fuchsias for many years but I have to prune mine back a fair amount as I don't have enough room . I do keep a certain amount of old wood that still gives me a larger plant than a first year one .I also do a certain amount of 'down potting' to keep the pot size down .
    For those that don't know 'down potting ' is removing the old compost ,maybe a little root pruning ,then repot with good compost into a smaller pot .or in some cases back in the same pot .The smaller single flowered types with proform well in this situation .
