I don't know if you'll get full coverage in the next year but it should be substantial (especially with two Montanas) :blue thumb:

Excellent, thanks Merle/ Are there any special techniques to train them equally along the trellis, or should I just be guiding as they continue to grow. One I planed a few weeks ago is already up to the trellis itself. I'm thinking shoots heading off left and right would be key?

Well done! It's looking good. :blue thumb:

The verbena bonariensis is a good idea where you've planted it. It forms a colourful screen but still allows you to see the garden. :)

Exactly the aim of my game Shiney, thanks! Almost cuts off the patio area to the garden but still allows for all the colour of the garden, and self seeds like a beauty :)

Another plant for making a see-through barrier is the grass Molinia caerulea "Transparent" - the seed heads are indeed transparent :) Definitely one of my favourite plants, not seen it about much (mine came from Beth Chatto's nursery)
