There are more to come of the mango and paw paw trees along most avenues and streets. And the enormous flame red plants.

            LOL @Ewoks! Brilliant! :D
I wish I had thought of that! Last night all the comments were about Tarzan and Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom.

And lots of stories about big men who are cock o' the walk in their daily lives, but were humbled by the walkway! The team sports people coped so much better.

Actually I shouldnt mock, it is a genuine test of nerve because you cant go back the way you came. An anthropologist could write a decent study paper on the group dynamics and peer pressure displayed that day!

Certainly within our group there came a point where even the loud, swaggering athletes and field eventers got quiet- it pushed at all your fear responses and you have to work to manage your breathing.

Its not because the bridge is unsafe in any way, its just the unnatural height and open air. Whilst still within the tree canopy you cant see the ground, but its ok because you are enclosed. The challenge comes when you are suddenly walking in mid air from giant tree to giant tree, and the canopy of the rainforest is far, far below you. Its heady stuff.

The rainforest guide was great; almost every tree still had medicinal or scientific a use for its bark, leaf or sap. Everywhere there were huge stumps 10 metres in diameter of long gone trees which were felled by Brits, Dutch and the Portuguese to build ships. The forest has been significantly thinned out a lot by British ship building.

Love the plants Melinda. I don't think I could have coped with the tree walk though, makes the one at Kew look pathetic in comparison :-)

Those bridges in Pakistan are scary, I think I'd take the long route.

Zigs, Im still a patch work of colours! The sun was so fierce we were tanning through hi-performance sports fabrics.

Dudes can exercise topless, but depending on what Im doing- circuits, interval training, or in the gym, I change my gear. Hence my current uneven zebra stripes.

For Madahhlia: Some of the food!
It made a welcome change from carefully weighed protein shakes and grilled skinless chicken but Ive since had every. single. calorie. sweated out of me ten times over.
Those tender beef kebabs were totally worth it though :D (And they were sharing platters btw- I wasnt eating 6 at a time! )

One of the local athletes who took us round to bars - properly hilarious. He's got trials with Udinese and a couple of French clubs.
