Hi John you have been a busy bee I thought it wouldn't be long before a lady would come along and snatch you up, after all you do have a great eye for style and design and your garden reflexs this.

You have truly done a marvelous job and I dare bet you felt really chuffed to pieces when you had your mates round, only problem they might chain-gang you into doing theirs next!

Regarding the solar spots lights you might want to check out Ste's (Intermiplants) thread on these. Solar lights

I have the same lights as Ste and can say without a doubt that those from Wilkinson's are brilliant and that they do indeed shine things up instead of giving a dull glow like the majority of solar lights do. I think they are about £4 or £5 pound each at the moment although I'm sure they are cheaper for a box of 3. If you do decide to buy them it will be money well spent.Hel.xxx.

Thanks Hel. I shall pop to Wilkos tomorrow to see if they have any :thumb:

Glad you like the pots Dee. They had plenty of supplies in the Asda that I went to.

I picked up a spot light this afternoon. I placed in in the garden around 16:00 while it was cloudy, and it's iluminated already, even though it says it will need 10 hours to charge!

It's currently illuminating the Canna Durban, although the flash drowned out the bulb!

They do have some lights which look as if they are embedded in rocks, that I would like to take a look at to use as low level lighting.

This was the final basket to be planted. It's only tiny, but it adds some colour to the wall.

The raised beds are coming on now and filling out nicely. Here you can see the Daylily Bonanza, Lobelia Queen Victoria, Campanula Telham Beauty and Crocosomia Lucifer.

In the far corner things are really developing! The Chilean Potato Tree has double in height in only a few weeks.

And if you go back to some of the older photos you'll see the biggest change so far...

John aren't those spot lights amazing?
They really do highlight plants incredibly well and give the garden such a dramatic style at night it's really hard to believe how cheap they are too!

I'ave some of those rock lights as well and I must confess all they give out is a little glow but saying that they do seem to blend in pretty good among the flower beds.Hel.xxx.

I'm currently considering the vertical 24" lamps. I think they may look good at the edge of the patio.

Brilliant thread. Your garden is looking cool. I've got sleepers as my raised beds too and I've put decking boards along them so u can sit on them.

Lovely baskets full of colour so different from most of mine as we have tumbling tomatoes in ours although we did throw some marigolds in for good measure!

Hope you don't mind me being too cheeky? but your grass needs cutting John!:D Hel.xxx.
