I've just got the last few minutes of a debate on the subject on telly.

I feel like I've just witnessed a bar brawl. Absolutely disgraceful. Nobody there was fighting for the British public. It was all about them.

Can't we just sack them all, and appoint a different government and a different, more rational bunch of voices?

I watched that programme but also watched Jack Dee's one that followed. One of the important questions that was asked of the panel in Jack's programme was "If we leave, can we have more powerful vacuum cleaners and also get our old style light bulbs back?".

Very important questions that neither side has addressed. :gaah:

The wife likes that program. She thinks it's simple comedy. I think it's proof that the BBC is not the impartial organisation it claims to be. The whole show is a blatant undisguised mockery of anyone that wants to leave or is indifferent.

In tonight's episode I even heard at least two direct claims that anyone who wants out is a racist.

We have the same issue here with our CBC. Terribly slanted reporting ... I express my sympathy. Giant corporation peopled by left leaners over here. But I must admit that the entertainment programs produced by the BBC are brilliant. At least the ones I've seen.....and yes I know my beloved Corrie is ITV not BBC :)

Very :goodpost: @shiney & @PeterS, I totally agree that there's going to be a massive crash, I stopped buying (BTL) houses a couple of years ago for this very reason. I've also been telling people not to buy houses, some have listened some haven't. Two of our closest friends have just remortgaged their house to the max & have only 5% equity left in it....they 'needed' an extension  & a 4x4, oops almost forgot the personalised number plate! Buying a car with the equity in your house is a pr@ts game! I believe there's so much debt out there again, there's soon going to be a massive problem, the banks are partly to blame but the biggest problem is the ignorance of the human race who have to have everything now & compete for the biggest & newest item....both fortunately are very low on my list. I'm not sure what this has to do with this thread either BUT it's so nice to hear this from another source. :dbgrtmb:

Ok.....you've twisted my arm @clanless & @ARMANDII, after much thought, reading & talking to many people I've like many others have been rather overwhelmed by the whole situation! My final decision is to vote OUT.

That's interesting. I watched the whole programme and didn't see it quite like that. There was certainly mockery, that's what comedians do :noidea:, but I saw it as being a bit more balanced than you did.

Most of the questions were 'tongue in cheek' type questions and the answers were the sort of satire that comedians utilise. They were taking the pee out of both sides, not necessarily balanced, but I don't think that there was a political agenda to the programme.

And, anyway, how would leaving the EU affect the consumption of hummus? :heehee:

Their sort of attitude is one of the major problems that this country has had for quite a long time. Unfettered consumerism, encouraged by banks and businesses and government turning a blind eye, has been the downfall of a lot of people. Individuals are not totally blameless in this as they don't seem to understand that the 'I want it now!' attitude can't work.

I'm of the generation that were taught to think in the longer term and to abhor building unnecessary debt. It was much easier to follow that philosophy post war and I admit that it's very difficult to do so nowadays when it's encouraged from all sides, and there's enormous peer pressure brought to bear.

Oh Dear!!! Where did that pulpit suddenly appear from??  Sorry! :love30:

All the time they stay rock bottom people will borrow money hand over fist.

                                It needs a reality check.

Might even bring down the price of housing.
