Tanks are likely to need tank transporters, I doubt they can drive that kind of stuff economically right across Ukraine. Right no excuse for putting up the price of sunflower oil now then. Just getting fed up with the War in Ukraine being the now no1 reason why we are getting all these price rises, they have even stopped blaming covid and to some extent, although not entirely, Brexit. Fertiliser's were rising in price due to increased energy prices, now suddenly most of them are made in Russia,, its just getting stupid and beyond belief what we used to buy from Russia and Ukraine.
That's the price of a capitalist economy; you get things where you can get them most economically and sometimes the unexpected (?) happens. Watch out for the mass shutdowns in China leading to shortages soon; Christmas orders usually placed about now if not already placed.
More talk from Moscow about nuclear war and WWIII :( Maybe it's rhetoric and maybe they actually are insane. Can they not see that that option kills the planet? There's no coming back from it, no-one wins. The idiocy of Putin's war saddens me more every day.
Russian sanctions are set to cost the UK economy £6bn over nine years. Boris - more sanctions please.
Basically its a threat to be the first to push the button, I've not heard anything from NATO suggesting it could turn into a nuclear conflict so,..........it kind of suggests Russia is feeling the heat.
Russia is cutting off Bulgaria and Poland's gas from Wednesday. Poland says they have plenty in storage and a new pipeline bringing in gas from Lithuania is due to open on 1st May. Poland gets about 50% of its gas from Russia and Bulgaria 90%.
Yes, and creatures that are cornered do some very aggressive things. Putin is using any argument he can think of to threaten escalation; he's off his gourd, but it doesn't change him having a huge arsenal at his disposal
I don't think there's many that think Putin's doing this sanely. So what about his own family? Have they tried to get him to stop? Or does he rule them with an iron rod too?
That this is still going suggests they either are going along (equally mad or terrified) or are under absolute control. I feel China is just waiting in the wings, poised to jump in.
Germany are rolling over and paying in roubles for their gas . I can't help but think that Ukraine could hop over the border and blow up the pipeline before it even reaches Europe. Remove the revenue stream, the arguments about it, and blame Russia for it to boot. Still reckon the only realistic solution to this comes from within Russia itself and removal of Putin
Russian forces will collapse in weeks, predicts military expert Boris - keep on sending weapons - now is the time to ramp up supplies to Ukraine.
One expert? If there's something Russia is experienced in, it's digging in for a slog regardless of how utterly stupid it is. Would be brilliant if it happens though. They'd turn on Putin in a heartbeat, blame him for everything and tell us there was nothing they could do to stop him
I was only thinking a few weeks ago, the ground Russia is taking is just complete ruins, what is the point? They showed a Russian tank on the news a couple of weeks ago, it was just throwing shell after shell into a totally destroyed housing block. They just seem really stupid, dangerous but stupid.
