No, that is not cannabis. For sure. It looks almost like a type of oak. The kind that grows in New Orleans. They call them live oaks as they don't lose their leaves in the fall and their leaves are much smaller than the "mighty" oaks up here. If it is, it's a tree.

I live in the orange orchards between the hamlets of Calvos and Carrasqueira (which is what our Deed says). Calvos means Bald and Carrasqueira means Holm Oak ... but we have no Oaks near us. Algarve's Oak trees are predominately in the Monchique Mountains where there is the Cork Oak (Quercus suber / Sobreiro) and the Holm Oak (Quercus rotundifolia / Azinheira). Our PO Box is in Algoz 7 kms away and it means Executioner! This all brings to mind of the Moorish era here.
Off with your head .... :paladin:

I would be inclined to agree.
I grew Hibiscus Trionum a few years ago - it eventually bloomed and was nice but it wasn't a roaring success here. I belie e that it has become an endemic garden escaped in southern Europe.

Thank you Keith for your input, always appreciated. I quite like the leaves so let's see what flowers appear.

I must admit I got some seeds from China a year or two ago so Heaven only knows what were in the packets as they were named in bar code!

Going through my seed box I may have planted Hibiscus mutabilis (Confederate Rose) but don't think the leaves are correct ... and Alyogyne huegelii (Blue Hibiscus).
