Cooking up some soya burgers to put in the office fridge in the morning. Don't eat the ones on Armandii's plate though, he puts something nasty on them.:runforhills:

I haven't heard anything about that. It can't be our one this time though, as ours is now under Thai ownership. Sadly, I suspect that the next time that one shuts down it will be because of a monumental tragedy. Judging from the press publications, they are more obsessed with breaking records than they are about anything else. The blast furnace over the road is, I believe, over 100 years old. It should be treat with a bit of respect but instead the new owners just seem to want to brag about how much steel they're pushing through the doors.

I don't know about now, but about 10 years ago it was a lesser known fact that Sheffield was one of the biggest steel producers in the world, I mean even as recently as then. It was not well known because the plant owners had invested so much that the plant was virtually emission and noise free. I don't know if they're still producing though.

Just had a quick look, Forgemasters appears to still be going, and there's no mention on their website of either Tata or SSI, but I don't know if they are the ones that got all the investment and production stats.

On the other thread I grovelled to the new Mod but I'm having second thoughts now :heehee:. How can we trust a Mod that succumbs to such depravity?

There are times when I get a craving for a 'plastic' burger, not often, but when it strikes it doesn't go away. I've waited two weeks for one before now (our burger place is 14 miles away) and the craving just has to be satisfied, don't you think Clueless? :heehee:

Indeed. Once I get a craving, it stays until its satisfied, even if that takes weeks or months.

My previous craving was for a steak pie. Not to be confused with a gravy pie that most shops sell. I only trusted myself to make said steak pie, and it took me weeks to get round to it.
