I'm so sorry Joolz. I'd be beside myself if I were in that situation. Oodles of love and healing vibes for Simian. I hope he'll have a smooth op and quick recovery. Your baby will be back with you in no time at all x

Simmy is a little fighter Joolz and he is going to give all his energy to getting well once again.
And your going to need to draw on your own strength too, because he's going to need you to curb his enthusiasm to run before he can walk (if you see what I mean :heehee: )
Get well soon wishes to Simmy :cat-kittyandsmiley: and a :grphg: for his Mummy xx

He certainly seems so @"M" Just waiting till I can call the hospital, to see how he fared over night. His brother Kip is missing him. sad.gif

I'm hoping to go up later this afternoon to see him after he's had his op. Missed his purrs and chin rubs last night. xx

            Thank You @Fern4

Morning update from the Vets. He's had a good night, and another small bite to eat. He'll be going for his op, around 2 this afternoon. He's last on the operation list, as his injuries require some time to operate on. All things being well, I can go and visit him after 6pm tonight. My little Simmy Sausage is a fighter. xx

Thank you both so much. I hate him not being home, but he's getting the best, (if costly) care, and I wouldn't have it any other way. xx

I have another update. They're keeping me so well informed, bless them.

The surgeon called this morning, discussed what will be done. He'll have to have a steel frame and pins in his leg for anything up to 12 weeks. Needs caged rest for 6 to 8 weeks, and could be prone to breaks in the one leg, as it's so badly shattered. They're hopeful that the ball joint in his discloateted hip is strong enough to hold the leg in place, if not, they'll have to take out the ball joint, and work out a fitting for that (I think that's what she said) whilst his body forms a new muscle joint in that area. I was awash with info at this point, so I may have that wrong. He's in good spirits, and is terribly fussy, he's such a trooper. The cost is astronomical, could be close to £3000.00 by the time we finish, but as much as it makes me draw a gasp he's worth it. I think though, that Simmy will have to become an upstairs indoor cat, as it's too much of a risk for him to sustain a break again in that leg. But, well see on that score.

They're also putting him ahead of the queue for operations, as it's such an intricate one, they want at least 36 hours to monitor him post op, before they let him home. Fingers firmly crossed!

:grphg: Been down that road with two of my boys, Joolz. Skwij a pinned leg and Magic Sam (Boo) the ball joint removed. Boo was less than a year old at the time but will be 20 on 1st September. His one leg is shorter than the other and arthritic now but the warmth and sunshine works wonders here.

Sending healing wishes from Boo, Munchkin (Chere Khan) and Van (Hoover Van Dyson) . :cat-kittyandsmiley::cat-kittyandsmiley::cat-kittyandsmiley:

                        Thank you @Jenny namaste & @Victoria .

Just awaiting a call from one of the Surgeons. He's had his op, in the end they did leave him till last as he needed both surgeons to work on him. He's coming round, but seems fine. I may not get to see him tonight, but as long as I know my boy's ok, that's all that matters. Once I've been updated from the Surgeon, I'll let you know. xxxx
