Easier said than done @Lolimac :heehee:

Simmy is a little brighter today. He's been singing (meowing at the top of his head) by the pen door, proclaiming that he wants to go out. He said he found it really unfair that all the others could go swaning in and out of the patio and cat flap, rubbing his nose in it, and that he's fenced in. I tried telling him that it was for his own good, and that if he just gave it a couple of months, then he'd be fit, and out and about again in no time at all. He grumped, muttered something about being held captive and turned his back on me on his bed.. Charming!

He's eaten a little this morning. I brought a selection of sachet's yesterday. Turned his nose up at two of them, but wolfed down half a packet of another one. I'll now be asking hub to get some more of that variety and flavour on his way home.. Little monster has me running round like billyoh!

Wouldn't have it any other way mind! :cat-kittyandsmiley:

He does like a bit of cheese, so if he goes on hunger strike again, I'll try that. He tends to roll ham round his mouth, and then spits it out... He's an odd one that boy....

      Thank you. x

My daughter's vet always seems to suggest fresh (cooked) chicken when cats have any ailments. The pregnant one was prescribed it - so of course the other one couldn't be left out, and he really wolfs it down. Costs a fortune, even after it dawned that they don't have to get best breast so were downgraded to leg portions. Simian looks gorgeous and is obviously a very strong character.

Glad to hear he's doing well @Joolz and no wonder it's hit you now, totally understandable. You've been staying strong through the crisis, and now the immediate pressure is off that's when your mind suddenly lets go and the wobbles kick in. :grphg:

I've got renovations going on here too... the derelict kitchen and what was the derelict utility room and back storage room being converted into one kitchen diner. I think it's been going on since April now, and won't be finished until early August. I'm living and working (I'm home based) out of the living room, with a kettle, toaster and microwave in there with me. And two large-ish dogs, who are less than impressed at their restricted domain. Nightmare, as I'm sure you and @Beckie76 will know! I hope your building work is done quickly so the dust and disturbance go away and you can focus on Simian without any additional stress :)

:frown: Poor Simmy is not having a good today. He was doing ok this morning, but this afternoon he's crying out and growling when he tries to stand or turn over on his bed. I don't know if he's just been sleeping on it too much today, which has caused him discomfort, or if he's knocked it; or if it's because his painkiller medication was dropped down to 2 a day rather than 3. He's had his painkiller now, and I'm to monitor him for tonight, if no better in the morning, then we'll be back to the Vet hospital tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed again peeps please. My stomach is in knots for him.:cat-kittyandsmiley:

Thank You @Lolimac Just awaiting a call back from the Vet. He does seem to have settled a bit since I called them, isn't that always the way. He's not crying out so much now, only occasionally, so I hope the painkiller has kicked in. He'll have another one when we go to bed. And yes, you're right; the helpless feeling is awful. I just hope he has a restful night. xx

Sorry for going on, what seems like a constant thing. But it does help me to get it off my chest. xxx

Keep posting as much as you feel like. Sure I won't be the only 1 who has been exactly in your shoes. I refused point blank to go on a booked holiday abroad years ago when my dog was ill even tho my Mum said she'd look after her. It may be that the wound is beginning to heal and the stitches are pulling perhaps. My female cat was 100% after being spayed and then a couple of days later was quite sore when the wound began to heal. Hope the 2 of you have a good night. :grphg:Sleep is a wonderful healer, for wounds and stress!

You're all stars. xx You do help me more than you know.

Still awaiting a call back, but Simmy is sleeping soundly now, so I'm not inclined to disturb him atm. I will be taking him back tomorrow though, to be checked over, as it was horrid to hear him crying out when he moved, so it must have felt horrid for him.

@silu We've cancelled a holiday we were due to go on in July because of Simmy, it was only 3 nights, but it's just not something either me or hub want to do now. The lady who runs the cottage has been marvellous. We'd originally booked to go in May for my birthday, but had to reschedule due to house renovations taking longer than planned. So we'd booked for our Anniversary in July. She's been an absolute gem, and has insisted that even if we can't manage to go this year, our deposit will stand for 2016 instead. Isn't that marvellous!

Tempted to pour myself a glass of something strong now, will just give it another 30 mins for the vet first..

                              Thanks again all.xxxx
